This is a movement.
A movement to encourage people to move to their own beat.
TUNE-IN and TONE-UP (TI+TU) is an active and dynamic meditation practice for those seeking a fun and creative method for developing strength, resilience, and personal power in mind, body, and spirit.
Using the body as indicator of what is AND what can be – gesture, pose, and movement exercises are explored to process stored-up thoughts, feelings, and emotions and to cultivate new forms of expression and ways of being that are more in alignment with one’s true Self.
Stores of information and experience, unique to each person, are accessed through the medium of music. By allowing ourselves to be open in receiving the vibrational qualities of sound and vulnerable in accepting artistic expressions represented in word, we come into union with energies that extend beyond self, with (universal) energies that permeate all beings (& things). By feeling connected to the whole of experience, we can abandon ideas of loneliness and feelings of isolation and start to see a wide-open and infinite space of all that is. In this new context, new navigation skills can be learned and obstacles that once served as barriers to self-expression and being can be looked at from different perspectives, leading to new ways of interpreting personal experience.
TI+TU explores the complex, intertwined relation between the external world, the internal self, and the body which acts as a mediator between the internal and external. A framework is provided for reassessing how we have until now lived in this complicated matrix.
The TI+TU process takes practice, commitment, and work, but when accepted with ease and with patience, offers a transformation vehicle for overcoming personal challenges, developing new perspectives, and new ways of being in an active, fun, explorative, and dynamic way.

The TI+TU movement practice was accidently developed /discovered while doing by its author and creator Molly Elizabeth.
What is TI+TU?
a dynamic configuration
a dynamic configuration of ideas, concepts, thoughts, theories, processes, practices, techniques, and structures both original and stemming from various (existing) fields of reference. The elements taken from various fields of reference, typically viewed as separate and incongruous to each other, are brought together in a conceptual framework that highlights and illustrates their common interfaces.
The TI+TU practice describes multiple spaces for one to enter for gaining fresh new perspectives – on one’s present reality. Exploration is made through conscious space, physical space, space between relations, and within the space of music. Space is opened and cleared promoting growing imaginations.
In the bridging of elements, an expanded view can be obtained for understanding one’s own life as a dynamic and intimate play of interconnected parts.
a call to all
to radically re-think their respective (and individual) plane of existence – for creating new groundworks for living, working, playing, learning, and engaging.
a yogic journey for the western perspective
with dynamic pop-culture entry into meditative states.
It’s a yogic revolution with rock and roll attitude.
a theory
that uses the frequency of sound and vibration to gain insight on the complex combination of forces that create our realities as we explore aspects of BODY, MIND, EMOTION and ENVIRONMENT
an acronym
for TUNE-IN and TONE-UP
yes, tune-in and tone-up sounds like a cheesy 80’s workout program…, it is that! And also so much more…
tune-in (ti)
to tune-in, is to give your attention to something and to be open to receiving the information. In this practice, it is to adjust oneself to see, hear, feel, and sense messages that are embedded in our:
- external environments (sounds and vibrations outside us – as in MUSIC)
- physical self (the BODY)
- mind – conscious and subconscious
tone-up (tu)
to tone-up is to build strength, resilience, positivity, and personal power in mind and body, while honoring our own truth and the truth that exists outside ourselves. In toning-up, our critical minds are turned-on, and we become selective and decisive about what feels good to us and what does not. In toning-up, we decipher for ourselves outside all convention, all expectations, what we love and dive unapologetically into it.
To tune-in is to (passively) accept all things as they are. To tone-up is to (actively and creatively) navigate through all things.
MUSIC IS OUR VEHICLE.
WHY WE DO IT
why we do it
To become fearless in our own authentic expression.
For connection to the universal experiences of humankind. This practice has the potential to connect us to the whole, rather than isolate us. We are never alone.
To liberate ourselves from status quo and the expectations held internally and externally to conform to established rules, doctrines, genres, styles, groups, and trends that do not resonate with our individual truths.
For health, healing, self-awareness, radical transformation, and dynamic new lives.
WHO IT’S FOR
who it’s for
- those heavily burdened with a restless mind and body
- those that seek a more liberated, peaceful way through life
- those that feel stuck in their present reality
- those interested in developing greater overall strength and resilience in mind, body, and spirit
REQUIREMENTS
requirements
- deep desire for change
- surrender to the unknown
- devotion to the process
- belief that questions will be answered at their own time
- tenderness to self – non-judgmental, non-critical curiosity towards self
Why we need it
why we need it
We live in a fractured world. One where politics is constantly interfering with our capacity to connect with one another. Where religious doctrines tell us that we are right and the others are misguided. Where success and image serve as beacons to gravitate towards. Where us vs them mentality gives identity and meaning to existence. We idolize money, power, wealth, and feel insignificant without them. We hide behind flags, argue about flags, flout flags, patches, emblems of ideologies, constitutions, systems, and structures. We separate ourselves based on skin color, economy, dress styles.
Research tells us, that regardless of culture, place, experience, opportunity – all humans, to a various degree can feel the same emotions. This therefore can be considered a universal condition.
Since emotions are usually the underlying impetus for our actions, motivations, intentions, automatic responses, arguments, etc., it is extremely important to get awareness of them and to understand why we act the way we do, why we are motivated to achieve that thing, why we have set an intention, why we react to certain stimulus the way we do, why we are arguing or defending something.
Underlying our exchange with the external world, underlying the action we take for or against our own bodies, is an emotion. To gain an understanding of this mechanism, we first need to be willing to. We must become curious about ourselves. How do I work? What programs am I running? Where do my automatic responses come from? Why?
All of it is natural. It happens to all of us. However, sometimes, when the same story is repeated, it becomes habit. These coping strategies become automatic responses to the outside world, and we ‘become’ (through our actions (and reactions)) what experience has taught us to be. YET, we do not have to repeat these actions, reactions once we become aware of them. We can choose to do differently.
Different situations grant different responses. Where we become stuck is when we use the same automatic responses for all external stimuli, unconsciously. We become ‘maladapted’ to face different situations. To overcome these patterns, often developed in childhood, it is important for us to uncover them. To find the ‘culprit’ or the origin source of our behaviors. To accept the fact that these things – really did happen. In the past and we carry the remnants with us.
We have come to accept that they are characteristics of ourselves. Who we are. But they are not who we are. They are who the environment once made us to be, for whatever reason. As we become ‘observers’ of our feelings and emotions, and the ways in which they are connected to and stored within in the body we can cultivate piqued awareness to them, and eventually conscious gatekeepers of them.
Through the practice, one will come to discover what their latent talents, abilities, strengths (and weaknesses (very important too)) are and how to settle more comfortably into them and begin to utilize them to personal (& collective) advantage. TI+TU is a roadmap for discovering and highlighting aspects of self that one has not yet developed conscious awareness of.
PROJECT TIMELINE
2020/21
This all started when I finally knew and accepted the fact that I needed, and wanted, to love myself more. When I recognized myself holding onto things that could not even be identified. It started when another cycle came around – and I wanted to escape – but was finally tired of running. Additionally, I had run out of ideas for where to go. I just knew ‘not here’ whatever that meant. Around this same time, the pandemic hit, ushering me into unemployment with limited new job opportunities. I was, in many ways, stuck.
Voluntarily and with relief to ‘not miss anything’ due to lockdown – I retreated from the outside world, people, relationships, the choices I had made. I wanted to know how and why I thought about certain things and how and why these thoughts had brought me to the place I was in, mentally, physically, and in spirit.
One night, and then it became many, I closed the blinds, I set the lights low, and the song I was listening to, I surrendered to. I stood in solitude and allowed the music to enter me, deeply. My body started to move to the truth of the song. My body started to show me how my sadness moved, how my pain moved, how my love in all its various forms moved, how my excitement moved, how my desire moved – ME. Through surrendering my body and mind to the present moment, in the accompaniment of sound, I learned a lot about myself. I started to use this knowledge in a conscious way, to guide me through life situations. With time, I found my life was changing, that I was changing.
Nearly two years into my ritual of song and dance, an aha moment came to me. Coming into focus was a mental picture of – a wild, fantastic, and complex roadmap – for the journey I was (apparently) on; a journey that was developing behind the scenes, of which I was only very fragmentally aware. The aha-moment / unified picture was a blueprint incorporating in a seamless fashion all my true and genuine passions and interests and abilities as they have extended and developed through time.
2022/25
The image compelled me to put onto paper, to put into language, a description of this journey and the information I have collected along the way. In 2022, I committed myself to writing. Hundreds of pages were written, yet a working structure for presenting the key framework components in a more logical and linear fashion was difficult to establish. All parts were equally important and a hierarchy of themes could not be conceived.
2023 – I ran a fundraising campaign to support the process. The campaign was a brilliant failure.
2024 – Feeling defeated, I took time away from the writing project. In the autumn, I began hosting a Wednesday evening event that brought elements of the practice into a community setting.
2025 – Fueled by engagement, I recommitted myself to the TI+TU text. The productive headlines PUPPET, PARTY, JOURNEY, HOMECOMING came into view structuring the text. In December 2025, TI+TU – TUNE-IN + TONE-UP – a movement practice was finally completed.
